The images below explain him quite well - he sleeps and he eats. Only, he's a nocturnal dog. In the daytime, he sleeps, and be careful not to wake him up. He's a heavy sleeper, so it probably won't be too difficult not to wake him up unless you actually touch him. If you do touch him, he'll get grumpy. Really grumpy. Unless of course you give him some food, then he'll eat it and go right back to sleep. In the night is really when he's a happy dog. He'll sleep until it's about 11:00 PM, and then he wanders around in search of food until whenever the person who's house he's raiding is awake. He has the most fun on the weekends, when the people sleep very late in the day.
Not much is known about his backstory, but most people think he was abandoned by his dog parents after he was born. They speculate that he was probably adopted by a family of Coyotes who raised him. That would explain his strange behaviours. Being nocturnal anyway, and a scavenger. (these Coyotes would have lived near humans, so they would be nocturnal)
